How do I boost my study skills in college?
I'm currently in UT, and I've been getting low B's and C's. I've done what I could to boost my skills. I've watched other students making high grades while I'm just here, failing what I'm trying to achieve. I don't want to give up Is it that I have to limit myself? I've been putting GREAT amount of studying this past semester. IT does nothing great for me. Yes, I have been studying the right thing, understanding the concepts, applying them... everything. Why am I getting these grades... it doesn't seems to match my efforts and knowledge. I feel that I have to work harder than everyone else to get an average grade.

Hi so I was wondering what would be a good way to improve study and test taking skills. I have a hard time staying focused. I want to improve my study skills. When it comes to tests I feel like I blanked out and don't know anything. I get frustrated. I, like many other normal high school students procrastinate and i cannot concentrate or have the incentive to do my homework or study when i need to and my exams are coming up. Please suggest as many ways and methods i can use to improve my study skills and be less lazy. I don't play any games and only go on msn but don't really talk to a lot of people. I have so much time after school but tend to do something else that is unproductive to avoid my homework. All appropriate answers are appreciated

I'm 20 years old and its my 3rd year in college. I've always had difficulty sitting down and studying. But this semester is my make it or break it. I need to do well. I'm in 8th grade Earth Science and we have a HUGE 100 pt. test coming up and I'm so nervous Our teacher gave us this big packet of stuff we need to know, and it's like, 20 pages. So I wanted to know how you would study this stuff. I'm so scared and I've been crying a lot because my grade means a lot to me and I would be so mad if I got a bad grade.So do you have any tips or something. I'm not a good studier because I used to just be able to wing it, but I can't this year. I need to learn study skills.?
I'm a smart student, so I've never really needed to study. But now that I'm older, I have to. I never do homework at my house. I always do it at school in the morning or in study hall. If I absolutely have to do it at home, I stay up until like 1 in the morning and then start on my homework. My house is small and depressing. My room just makes me want to fall asleep, like rainy days do. I sometimes try to start my homework right when I get home, but I end up falling asleep or just getting so bored that I can't concentrate. How can I change my habits and make this better?
Why does everybody hate Study Skills?
My teacher lets me take my phone out and everything. And talks about fantasy football and sports. We dont have to do anything at all. How could you hate it. It's pretty much a free period.Eelective in high school you do your homework and study and stuff but you dont have to do anything.

Okay so, I absolutely HATE math. My homework is just staring at me right now. If I tried I could be better and possibly understand it. I'm too lazy is the problem. It's my study skills maybe? I get home and all I want to do is sleep. I need to motivate myself and make myself do this. Any ideas?
